Generative AI Explosion
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a topic relegated to technology employees and has become a focus for business leaders. Less than a year after many of these tools made their debut, one-third of respondents say their organizations are regularly using the AI gene in at least one business function.

In addition, nearly a quarter of executives surveyed say they are personally using IT tools. AI gene for their work, and more than a quarter of respondents from companies that use AI say the AI gene is already on the agenda of their boards. What's more, 40% of respondents say their organizations will increase their investment in AI overall due to advances in the AI gene.
The first to explore
Organizations that have already incorporated AI capabilities have been the first to explore the potential of the AI gene. Those that are deriving more value from more traditional AI capabilities, a group we call "top AI exploiters," are already outpacing others in their adoption of AI gene tools. These high-performing organizations are using the AI gene in more business functions than other organizations, especially in product and service development and in risk management and supply chain.
Significant Changes on the Horizon
Significant business disruption is expected from the AI gene, and respondents predict Significant changes in their workforces . They anticipate staff cuts in certain areas and large reskilling efforts to address changing talent needs. However, while the use of gene AI could spur adoption of other AI tools, we see little significant increase in organizations' adoption of these technologies.
