Proportione brings Aviaria to Soria
Proportione participates in the II Conference on Responsible AI in the Military Field with Aviaria for computers, active for professional environments, and with Proportione Defense, which is being finalized for Tuesday. The presence at stand 10 allows us to explain how an organization can present risk information and maintain control of its data.
Aviaria presents a relative risk index with its sources, validity, and limits. The result informs the operator; it does not substitute their judgment nor does it constitute flight authorization. The functions displayed in Proportione Defense depend on their final acceptance testing.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Defense, through CESTIC, together with ISDEFE. Proportione's participation as an exhibitor does not imply certification or a purchase contract. Official event information.
What is bird strike risk
A bird strike can damage an aircraft and compromise the flight. The species, its size, the environment, and the spatial and temporal coincidence with the aircraft all play a role. Large soaring birds, including the griffon vulture, require special attention.
The CIAIAC presented a series of 19 accidents and 11 serious incidents due to bird strikes investigated between 2000 and 2024, resulting in 16 fatalities. This is a series of serious event investigations; it does not equate to all recorded bird strikes. Source CIAIAC.
Data control and limits
In this proposal, technological sovereignty means controlling where information is processed, who can access it, and how the system is maintained. Proportione develops Aviaria and its engine also using third-party components and commercial hardware. Proportione Defense is not presented as certified military hardware or as an absolute security guarantee; the public scenario uses exercise data.
Aviaria for computer is active. The final configuration exposed in Proportione Defense depends on acceptance testing. If a support recording is used, it will be identified as a recording and not as a live demonstration.
Aviaria and BirdRisk
Aviaria for computers is Proportione's active professional application. BirdRisk is its civilian application, available for compatible devices on the App Store and Google Play. Proportione Defense is the device specifically prepared for Soria. The functions, requirements, and connectivity of each version must be checked separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does it prevent accidents? No reduction in accident rates attributable to the product has been demonstrated. It helps examine risk information and support decisions.
- Is it a bird radar? No. Data-based assessment should not be confused with real-time physical detection.
- Does the AI decide whether to take off?No. Responsibility and decision-making lie with the operator and applicable procedures.
- Does everything work without the Internet?Version and configuration must be specified. In Soria, the aim is to demonstrate local calculation on prepared data; only what is proven on Proportione Defense will be affirmed.
